Photos

Before, during, after

Nearly three hundred pictures from the collective's archives: the Agorians' cameras, the albums of the Facebook page, Christian's photo library, the websites. They are grouped by chapter, in the order of time. The dates come from the photos' metadata when it exists.

From floor to ceiling: the bunker, summer 2010

June 2010: the pig barn is full of broken concrete. August: the floor is bare. September: the lodges go up. The big clean-up of the building, the bunker or the pig barn depending on who tells it, owes a great deal to Amandine's work. The Facebook album was called "L'AgorA, from ground up".

The first summer, 2010

The stream, the bridges, the string lights, the Cherry Island, the first stage at the edge of the pond, the Buddha in the grass.

Winter 2010–2011

The Donjon grandeur nature gets through its first winter: heated lodges, a snow tunnel, red lights.

2011: the stages, the bridges, Sundari, Tatanka

The spring and summer of the big worksites in the forest, and of the first festivals.

2012: the tipi, the treehouses, the summer

The campground opens, the mandala tipi goes up, the treehouses have Wi-Fi.

2013: the Neverland, the new tipi, the treehouses

The year of the brochure, the mushrooms and the big stage.

2014: Timeless and the last Earthdance

Winter on the Cherry Island, the first Timeless Festival at the end of August, then Earthdance, September 18 to 21, the last big party held at L'AgorA. Julia Sirbu's and Andrei Kalamkarov's photos are credited.

The basement at the 5505 and the Donjon

See the The Donjon page for the photos of Montreal (2009–2010) and of the first worksites.

The people

Few portraits here, by choice: most of the faces of those years belong to private people. One exception, which Christian takes on: himself. The pictures by his friend the photographer Renaud Kasma are credited.

The photos are in web resolution (1,400 pixels at most) and their location metadata was removed. The originals are kept by Christian Brochu. Anyone who recognizes themselves in a photo and would like it removed can write to [email protected].
